This project is about how a street can feel both familiar and foreign at the same time. On Nieuwe Binnenweg, I found myself caught between two places; the busy, chaotic rhythm of Rotterdam, and memories of Greece, where I grew up.
By translating this experience into painting, I wanted to show how everyday surroundings can trigger a sense of recognition, how a city can quietly echo another home and become layered with personal history. How a street can reflect our emotions, our thoughts, and the connections we experience whether they are real or imagined.
This project is about paying attention, letting yourself see and feel the small moments that often get lost in daily life.
